Judy's Biography

Judy was born in London and has been travelling and writing about food in all of its various incarnations, for more years than she cares to remember. She prefers eating fruit bat when it's been feasting on mangoes rather than eucalyptus, but piranha tastes sweet and musty whatever it eats. If you love to eat and travel - what better job than to become a food and travel writer - she sussed that out years ago.

She is the author of over 40 books on food, cookery and social issues, for both children and adults. Her most recent book, Eat Cuban, won the Best in the World award at the Gourmet Food Festival in

2009. Judy has contributed to TV, radio, reference books, magazines, partworks and websites on various women's issues, travel, cookery, food styling and design.

Her travel assignments take her all over the world and some of the more recent experiences have found her climbing the famous 'stairway to heaven' at Ankor Wat in Cambodia, hiking the challenging paths on the Waitubukuli Trail in Dominica, Piranha fishing in the Orinoco Delta, Venezuelaå and researching the art of eating dumplings in Shanghai.

Her heart remains in the Caribbean where she frequently returns to continue her lifelong Odyssey on Caribbean Cuisine..
